HIGHER LEVEL SKILLS

As part of the Queensland Government five year training reform plan, three funding programs have been developed as a key initiative in upskilling the workforce.

Funding includes the following programs:

  1. Traineeships and Apprenticeships
  2. Certificate 3 Guarantee
  3. Higher Level Skills

Under these programs, the Queensland Government will subsidise the cost for a variety of qualifications ranging from Certificate II to Diploma level.

Your benefits

Students who partake in the training offered under the 2014-15 Annual VET Investment Plan will learn the skills needed to exceed the requirements in their job role. Students will also be trained in an industry with a large skills gap, keeping you ahead of the market. Training costs are largely subsidised to help students attain their first post-school qualification.

For more information, please see the VET Investment Plan fact sheets.

The Higher Level Skills funding program is offered to students wanting to study a Certificate IV qualification or higher. It is suitable for candidates who have had a few years of experience in the hospitality industry and wish to advance their career.
